The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) through the National Programme Coordination Unit (NPCU) is implementing the Rural Finance and Community Improvement Programme (RFCIP II) in Sierra Leone. The project is financed by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL) with the objective of improving access to rural financial services and enabling the development of the agricultural sector.

Over 60 well-structured rural finance establishments across Sierra Leone, each designed to empower communities with access to finance, support agribusiness, and foster sustainable development. Built on a people-centered model, NPCU provides communities with strong institutional frameworks and inclusive services that continue to grow with innovation..
